Happy Birthday, Baby Charlotte!

I can't believe she's already one. This sweet baby has been such a joy - we all adore her! She has the sweetest disposition and captures the heart of everyone she meets. We had a special birthday party for her on Saturday and she was such a gracious little lady. It made me laugh how she gave each gift attention in her cheerful way. She loved the attention and was so sweet about it. It was so fun! Some fun facts about Charlotte: She loves bananas, peas, and mommy's bread. She loves music and will dance and sing along. She takes cuteness to an unbelievable level when she shrugs her shoulders and also when she raises her arms above her head and says "YA!" She loves her mommy and family and flowers. We are so blessed to have baby Charlotte.

Spring Piano Recital

Our annual Spring Recital was a success. Sammi and Maddi both performed on piano and guitar and did WONDERFUL. This was Keith's first recital and he was such a pro. He loves to play and it is so fun to see how talented he is. I love teaching my kids to play piano. We did take videos - but I need to figure out how to get it off of the DVD that Matt made. Until then...here's some photos. :)

Eli

Well, that pretty much sums it up.

Matt needs a vacation....or some ear plugs.

A couple of weeks ago we watched a BYU movie on Sunday. Matt inadvertently fell asleep. The show ended with a choir singing. Let's just say, there were some rough spots. I turned to see Matt's reaction (as I am wont to do in any and all our music experiences) only to find him doing what I like to call, his "music brows." Whenever something sounds a little "off" (i.e. flat, not-blended or just, well, off) Matt's eyebrows do weird things. Anywho, I caught him making his faces in his sleep. So we filmed it. Hil-ar-ious.

Char in the Car

Charlotte LOVES this song. I had Sammi film her as we were driving to show her reaction. You'll see smiling, dancing and if you listen close, some singing. She's so funny!

Char - Bar

I love this girl....

So...SO good.

This year, I didn't get ANY Cadbury Eggs for Easter. I was a little saddened, as you can only get them during Easter-time. Matt remembered later that day on Sunday and felt like he had failed. I assured him magnanimously :) that it was alright. Who needs the calories anyway, right? The next day I stopped in at Albertsons only to discover that they had TWO whole boxes of Cadbury eggs left....AND they were discounted to 20 cents! (this is big, people. Normally, these delectable creations are at least 80cents a pop and are sold out by Easter.) I was so excited, but kept my cravings in control and bought six. So excited. I called Matt when I got home to inform him of my discovery and how everything turned out swimmingly. He was happy for me, and that was that. Or so I thought. You would think I knew my husband after all these years. At 5pm, Matt came home from work, lugging 50 Cadbury Eggs in a grocery sack for me. 50!! Five-Zero! (He said he planned on buying 100, but after 50 started to get looks and to feel a bit weird. Thank heavens!!!!) I stood there stunned as he lovingly said "Now you'll have some for awhile!" Folks, they were gone in a week. Yes, I DID share, but seriously, most of the damage was done by me. They are so SO good.*sigh*

Easter

The "Grandmas" on Matt's side of the family put together an Easter Breakfast and Egg-Hunt for all the grandchildren and great-grandkids. We did the Bunny hop, had DELICIOUS food, a marvelous egg hunt and had a special visitor. Thank you Grandmas! I don't know why/how my face is doing that, but it's the bunny hop!
Good food...

Eli, sporting his sister's coat, LOVED the easter egg hunt
This is my favorite picture - Charlotte looks like she's ready to throw-down that bunny if it comes any closer. (It is a little creepy....look at it's eyes...)

Good times.

We're A-Back!

Yup - 'twas time for another "Party for the Grandkids". This time, the theme was Mario Bros. (many of the young grandkids are great fans). It was supersonic. Or something to that effect...

Sammi Meets Lewis and Clark

Sammi's fourth grade class put on a production called "Lewis and Clark"...it was ADORABLE and the sound system was awesome (I had to put that in, since Matt volunteered to work the sound and changed everyone's lives. :) Seriously though, it was GREAT to be able to hear the kids and such. Props to Matt.) The kids did such a great job, and Miss Sammi stole the show with her song "Just Around the Riverbend". (Yes - that's from Disney's rendition of "Pocahontas"...I teased Sammi, informing her that she wasn't legit - that Pocahontas was NOT associated with Sascajawea. Her response:"It's SACAJAWEA, Mom, not SAScajawea." And then I am silent. Because I just got burned by my 10 year old. :) Here's Sammi in all her glory...so proud of her. Kids wanted their picture taken with her. *chuckle*

Happy Birthday, Matt!

March 2, 2012. Matt's birthday. He woke. He had a delicious breakfast made by his lovely wife. He worked. He received gifts. Aforesaid gifts: A lathe and assorted attachments/materials to go with it, some shoes, some shirts, dinner with his wife (yes, that is a gift), bowling....what more can a guy ask for?

"You've Come a Long Way Baby!"

In January, Charlotte learned to sit like a pro and began solids. She's getting cuter and cuter every day...and bigger. *sad face*

Happy Birthday!

Whew! Starting December 29th, four of our kids have their birthdays in a 5 week period. (Matt's is a few weeks after that.) Anywho, here's a quick little view of their day (and all were healthy this year! ROCK ON)

First was Sammi's...she's now 10

Then Keith's - he's 5

Then came Eli's - he turned 3

Maddi was the last and turned 7

Happy Happy Birthday!
