Fourth of July

Happy Independence Day! We had a very full, very fun, very tiring day. We first headed to Matt's Aunt Miney's house for a DELICIOUS breakfast where the girls sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" (at least, Sammi did) and we filled up on pancakes, eggs and various meats. (or, just meat if you were Matt, Sammi and Maddi). After breakfast, we donned ourselves in our swimming attire and went to Roaring Springs. Sarah and Alan gave everyone free passes for the day and it was great! It wasn't too hot and the kids had a blast.

Maddi loved having a life jacket on and Keith loved the kiddie area and just "swam" around playing with mini innner tubes. He liked dipping his head in the water the best.

(note: don't you love his suit? A friend of mine lent it to me - her sister gave it to her from Australia. They're big about sun protection there). I managed to not get burned and had way too much fun in the wave pool.

After Roaring Springs we headed to our house for some pulled pork and potluck. Matt worked so hard in the back yard to get it looking all spiffy (he even put up misters on the deck to fight the heat) and it was perfect. After some snazzy fireworks performed by Matt, we took ourselves to bed and tried to recuperate. It was a great day!

Thanks for inviting me to your new blog. I wasn't able to see your Fourth of July pictures though. You have a very darling family. It's so fun for me to see you as a wife and mother. My how we have grown up.
Love,
Amy
