Anywho, I have to catch up on our not so recent happenings, and the recent ones. So let us turn back the pages to...Thanksgiving.
Twas a blissful day....I was hosting Thanksgiving at our house. The air was cool and all the leaves had fallen from the trees, minus a few stragglers adorning the yard and walkway. The house was clean, I was dressed in my cute apron, basting and baking with Perry Como, Ella Fitzgerald and a number of other favorites singing in the background. *sigh* Sounds lovely, doesn't it? Here you expect me to say that that isn't what really happened, but in fact, it did!
It was a wonderful Thanksgiving. We celebrated with my family this year, and had all our favorites: Cheesy Corn, Orange Rolls, CranMallow Pie, to name a few. Our good friends Noah and Olivia and their daughter Lucy (who may or may not be Eli's future intended) joined us also. Everyone ate until they were full, visited and enjoyed each other's company. The only hang-up was that dad had just had some surgery done on his mouth and couldn't chew. Imagine that, people. It's Thanksgiving and you CAN'T CHEW. Sad. The rest of us managed to swallow our sadness and still eat dinner. :)
Here's some highlights from the day:
